The Transportation Data Program (TDP) was created by Assembly Bill 744 (Carrillo, Chapter 541, Statutes of 2023), which requires the Commission to convene relevant state agencies to assess the procurement and implementation of data, modeling, and analytic software tools to support the state’s sustainable transportation, congestion management, affordable housing, efficient land use, air quality, economic, and climate change strategies and goals. Additionally, the bill requires the Commission to submit a proposal to the legislature outlining a process for procuring and granting access to data and tools to local and regional agencies or a process for allocating funds to local and regional agencies for the procurement of data and tools.
