Traffic Light Synchronization Program (TLSP)
The Highway Safety, Traffic Reduction, Air Quality, and Port Security Bond Act of 2006, approved by the voters as Proposition 1B on November 7, 2006, authorized $250 million, upon appropriation in the annual Budget Bill by the Legislature, to fund Traffic Light Synchronization Projects or other technology-based improvements to improve safety, operations and the effective capacity of local streets and roads. Senate Bill 88 (2007) provides that of this amount, $150 million shall be allocated to the City of Los Angeles. The remaining $100 million is available to other projects around the state based on an evaluation of benefits.
